BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's soccer team survived a tough match against one of the top teams in the nation on Friday night and defeated No. 6 Concordia University-Irvine, 1-0, in front of its home crowd at Liston Stadium.

The Wildcats improved to 2-2-1 on the year, while the Eagles fell in its season opener.

The lone goal of the match came in the 81st minute when senior Ben Coyle sailed a throw in play all the way from the far sideline and placed it perfectly onto the head of sophomore Amer Didic, who headed it past the keeper Jodan Brinkley to score the game winner for the Wildcats.

Baker took down the Eagles by allowing just five shots all night and none on goal. Baker took eight shots of its own with three on goal.

The Wildcats will next take on NCAA Division II McKendree University on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Lebanon, Ill.
