Soccer Ranked for First Time in 2013

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's soccer team came in ranked No. 25 this week in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

This marks the first time this season the Wildcats have been ranked in the NAIA poll. Baker has won three straight games and post an overall record of 5-3-1. The Wildcats will take on Ottawa University on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

NOTES: (All information dates back to 2000) Hastings (Neb.) becomes the first team to capture multiple No. 1 rankings this season... This year, three different teams have been ranked No. 1: Belhaven (Miss.), Mobile (Ala.) and Hastings... In 2012, just three teams claimed the No. 1 ranking all season: Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Rio Grande (Ohio) and Belhaven... Last year's preseason No. 1, Lindsey Wilson, held the No. 1 position in the first five polls... Aquinas (Mich.) is ranked for the first time in program history this week... Georgia Gwinnett and Cal State San Marcos also earned their first Top 25 rankings this season...Lindsey Wilson is the longest consecutively ranked active school at 74-straight polls, dating back to the 2007 Preseason Top 25 Poll... Rio Grande is next in line with 67-consecutive rankings, followed by Belhaven at 40 and Mobile (Ala.) at 39... Lindsey Wilson boasts the most all-time No. 1 rankings with 44, followed by Rio Grande with 39, Bethel (Tenn.) with 11 and Hastings with 10... Overall, 18 different teams have claimed the No. 1 spot in the poll...Fifteen of the 21 conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups are represented in the third regular-season Top 25 poll...Since 2000, just two teams have spent the entire season ranked No. 1—Bethel in 2009 and Rio Grande in 2004.
