CANTON, Mo. – The No. 25 ranked Baker University men's soccer team continued its hot stretch of wins with a 4-0 shutout victory over Culver-Stockton College on Saturday to improve to 7-3-1 on the year and won its fifth straight match.

Saturday also marked the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season opener for the Wildcats.

Baker finished the month of September with a 6-1-1 record and hasn't lost since Sept. 8 when they fell at NCAA Division II McKendree. 2-0.

Robert Hoeven scored two goals on the day for Baker with his first coming in the 28th minute to put Baker up 2-0 and then scored the final goal of the day in the 62nd minute.

Senior Ben Coyle scored the first goal of the day in the 10th minute and Julian Sansano put Baker up 3-0 with a goal in the 39th minute and the assist came from freshman Spencer Atkin on that score.

Baker attempted 15 shots on the day, while CSC attempted 13. Matt Bickley earned his fourth shutout of the year and second straight in goal and played 79 minutes on Saturday, as Ryan Akin substituted in for Bickley and played the final 11 minutes.

The goal for Coyle was his third on the year, while the goals were the first of the season for Hoeven and Sansano.

Baker will take on Graceland next Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. at Liston Stadium on Homecoming.
