BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Just one minute into the second overtime, Baker senior forward Richard Klein found the back of the net on an assist from freshman Jordan Thacker to lift No. 16 ranked Baker past No. 6 Missouri Valley, 2-1.

The Wildcats now stand-alone in second place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings with its 4-1-1 HAAC record and overall mark of 10-5-2.

With the loss, Missouri Valley falls to 10-3-3 and 2-2-2 in the HAAC. Baker will end the regular season this Saturday, Oct. 26 on the road at Central Methodist at 7:30 p.m.

Missouri Valley scored first in the 28th minute with a goal by Raul Beneit and looked to have the game in control until Baker tied it up late in the second half in the 89th minute with a goal by senior Andy Griffin.

Missouri Valley dominated offensively, outshooting Baker, 25-7, and took six shots in the first overtime and held Baker to no shots in the OT.

Matt Bickley was terrific for the Cats with eight saves in 100 minutes in goal and Baker was whistled for 12 fouls on the day, while MVC was called for 16.
