BU Shuts Out MNU for HAAC Title

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 3 seeded Baker University men's soccer team avenged its 2011 HAAC Conference Tournament Championship loss to MidAmerica Nazarene with a 1-0 victory over No. 1 MNU on Friday afternoon in the 2013 HAAC Conference Tournament Championship on MNU's home field.

The Wildcats improved to 14-5-2 with the win and advance to the 2013 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.

Baker will find out whom and where it will play in the Opening Round this Monday, Nov. 18 at The NAIA will feature a selection show to announce the Men's Soccer Opening Round Pairings at 1 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The lone goal of the match came in the 71st minute when Andrew Miller slammed it into the net off a corner kick from Chris Tuso, the ball was batted back-and-forth between MNU and BU, but Miller knocked it past the Pioneer keeper. It was Miller's first goal, and fourth shot on goal of the season.

Cameron Zimmerman had two shots, while Ben Coyle and Tuso had one. The Pioneers took 13 total shots, but none of them went past goalkeeper Matt Bickley who had six saves. Pioneers goalkeeper Chris Eriksson had one save.
