Houser, NSCAA Region COY

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University head men's and women's soccer coach Nate Houser was named the 2013 NSCAA Men's Soccer Plains Region Coach of the Year, announced this week.

The Baker alum was just one of eight NAIA men's soccer coaches from around the country to be named a Regional Coach of the Year.

This marks the second time the NSCAA has recognized Houser, as he was the 2011 Men's and Women's NSCAA Regional COY.

He led the Wildcats to a 2013 Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season championship and HAAC tournament championship and victory in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round over Midland University.

Baker ended its season ranked No. 9 in the final NAIA poll after its trip to the NAIA Final Site in Montgomery, Ala., with a record of 15-6-2.

The Wildcats have been ranked in the Top 10 in five of Houser's six years as head men's soccer coach at BU, including rankings in the Top 5 in 2009, 2011 and 2012 and were ranked as high as No. 2 in 2012.
