Griffin, NSCAA First Team All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For just the third time in program history, a Baker University men's soccer player has been named a NSCAA First Team All-American, the first two were baker head coach Nate Houser and 2013 Baker grad Nate Byarlay, but the newest First Team All-American to join the group from BU is senior defender Andy Griffin.

Griffin had a stellar 2013 season and earned a spot on the impressive 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NAIA Men's all-America Team.

He was one of three players from the Heart of America Athletic Conference and one of just 11 players from around the country to earn a spot on the First Team.

Griffin led Baker in goals scored at the defender position with seven and tied for the team lead in total points with 15. He appeared in 22 games for the Wildcats with 21 starts and took a team high 44 shots.

The Olathe, Kan., native helped lead Baker to a share of the 2013 HAAC regular season championship and a championship in the HAAC Conference Tournament.

Baker went 15-6-2 on the season and appeared in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament final site in Montgomery, Ala.
