No. 15 Bethany Sweeps Baker, 9-0

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's tennis team took on No. 15 ranked Bethany College last Friday on the campus of Concordia University-Nebraska and fell to the Swedes, 9-0.

In the three doubles matches, Baker's Michael Draper and Gavin Webster fell to Bethany's Laurentsi Arakhamiya and Mensford Owusu, 8-5. Aaron Greenbaum and Theo Nichols then fell to Amir Rahbar and David Barbieri, 8-2.

Ryan Gleue and Dylan Geick rounded out the doubles matches with an 8-4 loss to Tucker Clary and Aaron Moses Jr.

In the singles matches, Draper fell, 6-2, 6-3 to Arakhamiya who was the No. 41 ranked singles player in the NAIA.

Webster then fell, 6-1, 6-1 to Owusu and Greenbaum lost 6-1, 6-2 to Rahbar. In the other singles matches Gleue fell 6-0, 6-1 to Andreas Brune, 6-0, 6-1, BU's Nichols lost to Barbiera, 6-1, 6-1 and Geick rounded things out with a 6-0, 6-2 loss to Clary.

The Wildcats will next compete on Bethel (Kan.) on Friday, Mar. 7 in Newton, Kan., at 2 p.m.
