Two other BU runners finished in the Top 10, sophomore Lindsey Brown clocked a time of 15:40.44 to finish in ninth-place, while freshman Megan Rosa took tenth with a time of 15:43.24.
No. 16 Kansas Wesleyan took home the title on the women’s side with a total of 28 points. Baker finished with 59 points.
The Baker men’s squad also finished third this past weekend in Baldwin City.
Leading the way for the Baker men was junior Chris Scheideman, recording a time of 16:30.93 in the men’s 5k run. Scheideman finished 12th overall.
Sophomore Eric Larson also finished in the Top 20 at No. 15, with an overall time of 16:34.33.
“I think this was a pretty good start to the season for us,” said head coach Zach Kindler. “I was a little disappointed finishing behind William Jewell on the women’s side. I think both teams have a lot of room for improvement, we’ll get better as the year goes on.”
The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 18th at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo.
