Baker took first over fourth other teams, as Southwestern College took second, Johnson County Community College took third, Kansas Wesleyan was fourth, MCC-Longview took home fifth and Bethany was sixth.
Baker had four runners finish in the top five, as Jaqua took first in a time of 15:05, Kerry Kurta was second in a time of 15:39, senior Ashley McBride took home third in a time of 15:58 and senior Megan Rosa rounded out the top five in fifth in a time of 16:22.
Two other 'Cats finished in the top 10, as Shelby Stephens took ninth in a time of 16:47 and Jenna Stanbrough was 10th in a time of 16:49.
On the men's side, Baker had a solid performance at it's host Maple Leaf Invitational event on Saturday. The men's squad finished third out of six teams, led by junior Vincent Tadokoro. Tadokoro placed fifth overall with a time of 16:48.60. Freshmen Corey Matteson, Jamie Sturery, and Andrew Dare led the youth movement for the Wildcats in their first race.
Matteson finished in 14th place with a time of 17:15.50, while Sturery placed 18th with a time of 17:40.90, and Dare had a time of 17:51.60 placing 22nd. Junior Andrew Heim rounded out the top five finishing in 24th place with a time of 18:01.80. Senior Cooper Clark and sophomore Tosh Mihesuah finished in 30th and 31st place respectively.
Clark had a time of 18:28.20, while Mihesuah ran the race in 18:39.90. Freshmen Carter Breithaupt, Andrew Emanuel, and junior Ulrich Johanning rounded out the Wildcats team. Breithaupt finished in 37th place with a time of 19:00.50. Emanuel had a time of 19:41.50 finishing in 43rd place, while Johanning finished in 46th place with a time of 20:15.
Southwestern College won the event and Johnson County CC took second place, while Kansas Wesleyan finished fourth, Bethany was fifth and Wentworth CC took home sixth.

Baker will next take on the University of Central Missouri Mule Run on Saturday, Sept. 14 in Warrensburg, Mo.
