Wildcats fall, look to Benedictine
TOPEKA, Kan. - The Baker softball team dropped two games to Washburn University Tuesday night. Washburn, an NCAA Division II team, took both contests by the score of 8-0. The losses moved Baker to 9-17 on the season.
In the first game, Chelsi Taylor, Annie Hannon, and Allie Losey each went 1-2 at the plate, tallying the only three hits for the Wildcats.
Baker only recorded three hits in the second game as well, coming off the bats of Annie Hannon, Kelsey Epperson, and Kim Gilges. The Wildcats also struggled defensively, committing six errors in game two.
The Wildcats (1-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference) hope to improve their conference record when they face Benedictine at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday at Baker’s Canvaness Field. Benedictine carries a 6-13 record and is still looking for its first conference win.
