Wildcats sweep Southwestern College in home opener
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The bats are starting to heat up for the Baker University softball team. The Wildcats (6-6) won its fourth-straight game on Thursday evening at Cavaness Field on the campus of Baker University.
Baker racked up 13 hits in game one en route to a 6-4 come-from-behind-victory. Brooke Allen led the way offensively going 2-for-4 with two RBI’s. Homeruns were the story though as Austin Boehm and Erin Greenwood each went yard to put the Wildcats ahead for good. Katie Worley and Erin Greenwood each led the team with three hits apiece.
Jamie Simms pitched 2.1 innings giving up eight hits and two earned runs before Windle went to Greenwood to finish the game. Greenwood pitched 4.2 innings while giving up two earned runs on three hits.

Game two was another barnburner, but the Wildcats managed to escape with a 6-5 victory.
Four Wildcats recorded RBI’s in the contest, with Maggie Holmberg (2-for-4) and Brooke Allen (3-for-4) leading the way.

Baker will return to action on Sunday afternoon when it travels to Oskaloosa, Iowa to face William Penn Univeristy (12-5) in a 2 p.m., doubleheader.
