Game two saw the Wildcats make a comeback from two runs down after trailing 2-0 after the first inning. Heather Gruber led the way offensively going 1-for-4 with two RBI’s. Erin Greenwood picked up the victory on the mound after pitching a complete game while giving up just two earned runs on eight hits.
“We started off our conference season just the way we wanted to,” Windle added. “We’ve gotta keep the momentum rolling on Sunday against Missouri Valley.”
The Wildcats currently sit in third-place overall in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Standings with an 11-9 overall record and 2-0 HAAC record. Baker will be back in action Sunday afternoon against Missouri Valley College at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
