Softball set to host Avila University Tuesday evening
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Wildcat softball team will return to action Tuesday evening when it hosts Avila University (6-21, 1-5 HAAC) for a 5 p.m. doubleheader from Cavaness Field.
Baker (17-11, 6-2 HAAC) is coming off a weekend where they split conference doubleheaders with No. 24 MidAmerica Nazarene and Benedictine College. The Wildcats are currently tied for fourth-place in the HAAC Standings with Evangel University.
Avila comes into the contest in ninth-place in the HAAC Standings, with only one win thus far in conference play. The Eagles ended a five-game skid with a 3-0 victory over Culver-Stockton College on April 3rd.
"Avila is a team in transition," said head coach Matt Windle. "They replaced their head coach a few weeks ago, but they're not a team we should overlook."
The Wildcats will play two more doubleheaders at home this week as they host Ottawa University on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. and William Woods at 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
