Wildcats split with Lindenwood; keep HAAC title hopes alive
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – At the beginning of the season, Baker softball head coach Matt Windle never envisioned his team contending for a HAAC title in just his second season at the helm.
The Wildcats (22-14, 9-3 HAAC) currently sit in a tie for third-place in the HAAC standings after splitting with conference leader Lindenwood (18-16, 5-1 HAAC) this past weekend. View the game one box score here | View the game two box score here
Brooke Allen continues to lead the squad offensively with a .400 batting average and 42 hits on the season from the leadoff spot. Freshman Erin Greenwood has been the Wildcats’ main run producer with 21 RBI’s.
Maggie Holmberg, Erin Greenwood and Heather Gruber continue to anchor the Wildcats pitching staff with 19 combined victories on the season. All three pitchers currently have an ERA under three with over 65 innings pitched.
Next up for the Wildcats is Culver-Stockton College (5-24, 1-11 HAAC) on Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. from Cavaness Field.
