Erin Greenwood led the team offensively and defensively, going 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBI’s while pitching a complete game giving up just eight hits and three runs.
As usual though, the Wildcats managed to bounce back in game two, salvaging the split.
Baker got on the scoreboard early again taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning and adding subsequent runs in the second and third to grab a 4-0 advantage.
That was all Baker needed for pitching ace Maggie Holmberg who grabbed her 11th victory of the season pitching a complete game while striking out eight batters.
Heather Gruber led the team with two RBI’s while senior Katie Worley and junior Brooke Allen added solo home runs to pace the Wildcats to a 4-2 victory.
The Wildcats will return to action on April 20th when they travel to Washburn University for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
