CANTON, Mo. – A late rally saved the Wildcats in their opening game against Culver-Stockton College on Saturday afternoon. After trailing 1-0 heading into the seventh inning, Baker tied the game up and won the game in the eighth, 2-1.

After a pop out by Brooke Allen to start the inning, Renata Dill cracked a double to set the rally in motion. Kayla Morse laid down a bunt and a wild throw to first base scored Dill.

Alyse Menghini sparked the rally for the Wildcats in the eighth with a single to center field. After a sacrifice bunt from Brittany Vollenweider, Tara Chumley came through with the game-winning double with two outs in the eighth. View game one box score.

“We had two tough losses against Graceland on Wednesday, but I thought we bounced back nicely against Culver-Stockton College this weekend,” said Baker head coach Matt Windle.

Erin Greenwood picked up her seventh victory of the season in game two, pitching a complete game five-hit shutout in the 2-0 decision. Greenwood also 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. View game two box score.

Baker (11-10, 2-2 HAAC) returns to action on Apr. 5 when the Wildcats travel to Evangel University for a 3 p.m., doubleheader.
