The three signees who will begin their careers in the 2013-14 season are, Sloan Brady of Blue Valley Northwest High School, Elizabeth Stover of Olathe Northwest HS and Lucy Staats of Paola.
On Nov. 7, 2012, Brady signed her letter of intent with Baker, and is currently a senior outfielder and four year letter winner at Blue Valley Northwest High School.
She has been named an honorable mention and second team All-EKL player and currently plays for the KC Jazz under the direction of Terry Corp.
"Sloan is a consistent left handed hitter with gap power and the bat control to slap when needed," said Windle. "She will be a weapon for us."
Sloan is currently undecided upon a major.
Stover signed her letter of intent on Nov. 15 and is a senior first baseman and two year letter winner from Olathe Northwest.
She was named to the second team All-Sunflower league and her team finished third in the state tournament her junior year. Stover will be playing her travel season with Fred Lovsky and the Sliderz.
"Lizzy (Stover) is a find," said Windle. "Her tall frame and all-out effort make her the perfect person to compete for the first base position being vacated by an all-conference graduating senior. Lizzy has a tremendous bat that will translate to runs and power numbers."
She plans to major in secondary education and history.
On November 30, Staats signed her letter of intent with Baker and is a senior utility player and a three-year letter winner from Paola HS.
Staats has been named a tri-county first team selection and a second team All-Frontier league selection. She will also be playing her travel ball with the Sliderz and coach Lovsky.
"Lucy is going to do some great things at Baker," said Windle. "She has the capability to play almost every position on the field and is also a very powerful hitter. She's extremely quick and can cover a ton of ground."
Lucy plans on majoring in exercise science. Baker finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 25-19 and 11-7 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings and advanced all the way to the HAAC Championship game against eventual conference champion Central Methodist University.
The Wildcats open up the 2013 season on Saturday, Feb. 9 against Ottawa at 1 and 3 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kan.
