The Wildcats earned its first win of 2013 in an 8-0 win over Dordt thanks to a six-inning shutout by Erin Greenwood. Greenwood gave up just two hits and struck out 13 batters.
She also went 1-for-4 from the plate and the Wildcats collected 16 hits as a team with Renata Dill, Ilona Miller, Alyse Menghini, Summer Kelley, Mallorie Nelson, Cami Williams and Peyton Weekly all adding two hits.
Menghini and Nelson had a team high two RBI's. Baker scored the first run early in the first inning and was shutout until the fourth inning when they put pressure on Dordt in the fourth inning with two runs then two more in the fifth to put things out of reach. Greenwood picked up the win for Baker.
In game two, the offense came up big again for the Wildcats with two runs in the first inning and then a huge inning in the bottom of the fifth with six runs to end the contest.
The Wildcats also got five strong innings from Nelson with her five shutout innings and four strikeouts.
Baker had a game high three hits from Dill and a multi-hit game from Greenwood with two as well as Kelley and Nelson with two apiece.
The 'Cats will take on Purdue University North Central and Judson on Mar. 12 in day two of the Tucson Inviational.
