TUCSON, Ariz. – The Baker University softball team earned two shutout wins in day three of the Tucson Invitational on Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Dickinson State and 7-0 win over Valley City State.

The Wildcats are now 5-3 overall and 5-1 in Tucson. Baker will take on British Columbia tomorrow at 9 a.m. and Lubbock Christian at 11 a.m.

In game one, Erin Greenwood threw another brilliant game for Baker with a seven-inning shutout over the Blue Hawks and struck out six batters, while giving up just six hits.

She also went 1-for-1 from the plate with two walks. As a team, Baker had five hits and Alyse Menghini, Summer Kelley and Cami Williams all drove in a run.

The Wildcats scored runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings. In game two, Brooke Plummer went four strong innings and earned the win, giving up just two hits and no runs.

Baker's bats went wild for 14 hits and Kelley led all players with her 3-for-4 day and Peyton Weekly, Menghini and Renata Dill all had two hits each.

The Wildcats scored two in the top of the first, one in the second, and two each in the fourth and sixth.

Mallorie Nelson threw two innings of one hit ball and Brittany Vollenweider threw one inning, allowing just one hit.
