The Wildcats improved to 22-11 with the win and sent seniors Brittany Vollenweider and Summer Kelley off with a victory in their last game at Cavaness Field. Vollenweider and Kelley were both honored before the game.
Greenwood threw all seven innings for the Wildcats and gave up the four earned runs on seven hits but struck out six Pirates.
Baker scored three of its runs in the bottom of the first inning. Renata Dill led off with a single to left field off of Park starter Megan Walker. Then Ilona Miller drew a walk. After Greenwood reached on a fielder's choice, second baseman Kim Breyfogle committed an error that loaded the bases.
Then Summer Kelley approached the plate and reached on a fielder's choice. She hit a ground ball that went to Breyfogle who threw out Greenwood at third, but scored Miller.
Mallorie Nelson then came up to bat smacked a double to deep right field and around third came Menghini and Kelley to score to put Baker up, 3-0.
Park added a run in the second, but Baker tacked on a run each in the third and fourth innings to go up, 5-1.
But the Pirates strung together two runs each in the sixth and seventh to tie it up, 5-5, going into the bottom of the seventh.
In that final inning, with two outs, Frankie Farrant pinch hit for Miller and was hit by a Kaily Purtle pitch. Then Greenwood came up with a 1-2 count and smacked a two-run home run over the centerfield fence to clear the Baker dugout and sent the crowd into a frenzy as the Wildcats won in walk-off fashion.
Baker will now take on Central Methodist in its regular season finale at Fayette, Mo., on Saturday, Apr. 27 at 1 and 3 p.m.
