BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University softball senior infielder Summer Kelley and junior catcher Tara Chumley were named two of 286 softball student athletes from around the country as 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Kelley appeared and started in all 37 games for the Wildcats and led the team with an impressive .400 batting average. She was also second on the team in home runs with four and second in RBI's with 17.
The Shawnee, Kan., product had a team high .591 slugging percentage and posted 13 extra base hits.

Chumley, a Second Team All-HAAC performer in 2013, was a solid presence behind the plate for Baker at catcher. She threw out three runners attempting to steal a base and hit .275 with nine RBI and 19 hits.
