Softball Signs Colorado Catcher

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University announces the signing of Kaitlyn Saunders, a catcher from Littleton, Colo., to a national letter of intent and she will join the Wildcats in the fall of 2014.

Saunders is a senior at Chatfield Senior High School and plays for the Elite Sports Prospects travel team.

She was an Academic All-State First Team member and Second Team All-Conference performer. Saunders also earned a spot on her school's honor roll in all four years of high school.

"Kaitlyn is a dedicated young athlete with an extremely high softball IQ," said interim head softball coach Jamie Stanclift. "She has strong game management skills behind the plate and will be a great addition to our program. We are excited to have Kaitlyn join the Baker family."

The Wildcats will open up the 2014 season this week as they travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the Cowtown Classic.

They will face Oklahoma City University this Friday, Feb. 14 at 9 a.m., then faces Oklahoma Wesleyan at 11 a.m. and NCAA Division I Incarnate Word at 3 p.m.
