With the successful weekend, Baker improved to 5-4 on the season and the Wildcats scored 33 runs in the four games this weekend, including an 11-0 win over Dordt, a 3-0 loss to Hastings, along with an 11-3 win over Dordt and that 11-1 win over nationally ranked OBU.
Some highlights from the weekend include freshman Lucy Staats, who batted .625 on the weekend with three home runs including two against OBU. She also had a double, a walk, and five RBI on the week.
Freshman Katt Cooper was stellar again for Baker with her complete game win against OBU with her 6 strikeouts, one walk, and allowed up just 4 hits.
She also picked up another six inning shutout win over Dordt, allowing just three hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts.
In the first game against Dordt, Baker had 14 hits and 12 Wildcats had a hit in the victory. Kelsey Vollenweider led the way with two RBI.
Against Hastings, Mallorie Nelson got the start and threw four innings allowing three runs and struck out six batters, but recorded the loss. Baker connected on just four hits against Hastings' Taylor Erienbusch.
Baker had another big game against Dordt on Saturday morning with 11 more runs and 11 hits. Nelson had three hits and three RBI and Renata Dill, Staats and Cami Williams all had two hits.
Nelson also received the win in the circle with six innings of work and five strikeouts. She allowed just two earned runs.
In the most impressive win of the weekend, Baker accumulated 10 hits off of OBU's Noelle McDowell and Hannah Wilbur and Staats had two home runs and Alyse Menghini had two doubles.
The Wildcats will next the Friends Invitational on Mar 7-8 in Wichita, Kan.
