BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University sophomore pitcher Mallorie Nelson had a big day both offensively and defensively for the Wildcats with her complete game shutout victory in the circle with 15 strikeouts in the game one 1-0 victory and with two home runs at the plate in the Wildcats 5-1 game two win.

In fact, Nelson had three home runs on the day and knocked in four of the Wildcats five runs on the day.

In game one, she went all seven innings allowing just three hits and surrendered only one walk and at the plate she hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to supply Baker its lone run for the game.

Then in game two, she played the designated player position in the lineup and hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Baker up 2-0, then hint a two-run inside the park home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the 'Cats the lead for good.

She went 3-for-4 in game two with two runs scored and three RBI to help the Wildcats improve to 12-10 overall and 2-0 in the HAAC.The Yellowjackets fell to 1-17 on the year and 0-2 in the HAAC.

Katt Cooper got the win in game two with her seven innings of stuff, as she allowed just two hits and one earned run and nine strikeouts.

Next up Baker will travel to No. 17 ranked Park University in Parkville, Mo., on Wednesday, Mar. 26 at 2 and 4 p.m.
