PARKVILLE, Mo. – Reigning HAAC Player of the Week Mallorie Nelson was on her way to a shutout in game one against No. 15 Park University, but reigning AMC Player of the Week Brooke Kunkel had other plans and hit a two-run walk off home run to give Park the 2-1 win in game one.

In game two, the Pirates slipped past Baker for the sweep with an 8-7 win in walk off fashion again.

This time, Baker entered the bottom of the seventh inning up 7-6, but Park rallied back to win on a Britanee Willard walk off triple to complete the sweep.

Park improved to 24-2 on the year, while the Wildcats fell to 12-12. Baker will next take on Briar Cliff on Saturday, Mar. 29 at 12 and 2 p.m. at home in its final non-conference doubleheader of the season.

Nelson gave up just one hit and shutout the Pirates in the first six innings and struck out 13 batters.

Offensively, Baker had five hits in game one and Nelson knocked in the only run scoring Cami Williams.

In game two, Nelson received the loss as well, throwing the final 1.2 innings. Baker had a big day offensively against reigning AMC Pitcher of the Week Kaily Purtle.

The Wildcats had a total of 15 hits in game two, 11 off of Purtle, with Renata Dill, Williams, Alyse Menghini, Ilona Miller and MaKayla Greeve all picking up two hits.

Greeve had a game-high three RBI and Miller crossed the plate twice with two runs.
