BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Benedictine College spoiled the Baker Wildcats 2014 senior day, as they split its doubleheader series at Baker's Cavaness Field, with the Wildcats winning game one, 4-3, before falling in game two, 10-0, its largest margin of defeat of the season.

Before the game, Baker honored its five seniors, Cami Williams, Tara Chumley, Alyse Menghini, Brooke Plummer and Renata Dill.

Williams had a huge first game on her senior day, with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, to put Baker up 2-0.

The Wildcats then added two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to go up 4-0. Peyton Weekly scored on a double steal, as she stole home from third base and Lucy Staats knocked in a run as well.

Katt Cooper then came in relief for the Wildcats for starter Mallorie Nelson and found a bit of trouble.

In the top of the 7th, Cooper gave up two hits but also surrendered three earned runs. But she was able to control things late and got out of the inning to collect the save and the Wildcats captured the 4-3 win.

In game two, the Wildcats were shutout since Apr. 10 when they fell 5-0 at Evangel and it marked the fifth time this season.

The Ravens rallied off 13 hits and 10 runs in game two, while the 'Cats collected five. Katt Cooper received the loss after throwing 5.2 innings of work and allowed four earned runs.

The Wildcats end the regular season with a record of 20-22 and will next take on the HAAC Conference tournament in Overland Park, Kan., on May 1-3.
