Windle announces signing of Alyse Menghini

Signing

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University softball coach Matt Windle announced on Wednesday that the team has signed Alyse Menghini, a standout infielder from Lincoln East High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.

“Alyse came on a visit and impressed me right away,” Windle said. “She is a very bright student and is an extremely strong athlete. I would anticipate that she’ll be able to come in and give us some pop in the line-up right away. The bottom line is she’s an intense competitor and a winner. We’re fortunate to have her.”

Wildcats conclude HAAC schedule, look forward to playoffs

Windle's Wildcats

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – In just his second season as head coach, Matt Windle has taken the Baker softball program to new heights.

The Wildcats (26-18 overall, 13-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference) finished the season in fourth place in the HAAC standings, a major change from a year ago when Baker compiled an 18-31 record and 7-13 mark to finish eighth in the conference.

“I think our hopes were to play our way into the top five in the conference, but we got to a point where we had the potential to win the conference,” Windle said. “We put ourselves in a position to do much better things than we intended.”
