BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - After serving as the head spirit squad coach for the past two seasons, head coach Taylor Schreiner announced she will be stepping down to pursue her masters degree.

Schreiner broke the news to the spirit squad members last week at practice. "I have certainly loved my time at Baker! Everyone here has been very supportive of me and the cheer squad," Schreiner said on Sunday. "I'm very confident that I am leaving a strong foundation of current members and new members that will help the cheer squad grow and achieve the success that I know they are capable of and deserve!

I have enjoyed this experience and will miss everyone, but I feel like this is the time to continue to pursue my masters. I am confident that Jeremy will be a fantastic fit as the next head spirit squad coach at Baker."

Baker alum Jeremy Webb '08 will take over as head spirit squad coach. Webb, a member of the spirit squad from 2004-08 and captain for two years, served as the assistant coach the past two seasons. Webb currently teaches special eduation at J.C. Harmon High School in Kansas City, Kan. "As a team, we will try to make Baker proud," Webb said.
