Volleyball sets regular season record with 31 wins
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker women's volleyball team closed out its 2009 regular season campaign on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 sweep over MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Before the contest, senior Nikki Anderson was honored for her contributions over the past three seasons to BU volleyball. "BU volleyball was the most important thing to me over the past four years at Baker," said Anderson. Kathy Allen touched on how special it is to see a JV player grow and finally reach the varsity ranks. "Nikki came up through the ranks. I give her all the credit in the world for the player she has become today," stated Allen.
Brooke Pryor led the team offensively with 14 kills, and Brooke Allen led the team defensively with 18 digs. Pryor ranks No. 8 in the nation with 4.2 kills per set, and Allen ranks No. 1 in the nation with 6.9 digs per game. View the full box score here.
Baker will begin its quest for a HAAC championship on Saturday when they take on MidAmerica Nazarene in round 1 of the HAAC playoffs at 7 p.m. in Baldwin City.
