BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University Lady ‘Cats volleyball team will host Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) foe Benedictine College on Tuesday, October 19, in its first annual “DIG PINK” match for breast cancer awareness. First serve is slated for 7 p.m., at the George F. Collins Center.

During the DIG PINK National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, high school and college teams will be promoting breast health education in the community as well as raising funds to help eradicate breast cancer.  All gate receipts from the contest will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink and come out to the George F. Collins Center on the campus of Baker University to support the Lady ‘Cats in their effort to raise breast cancer awareness.  The volleyball team will match all donations made.

Additionally, head coach Kathy Allen announced that the team has purchased over 300 t-shirts that will be strung out on clothing lines around campus for students, fans, faculty, and staff to wear in support of the foundation.

“This will be a pretty cool thing for the volleyball team and the university,” said head coach Kathy Allen. “The goal is to get more people involved with BU athletics and support a great cause.”
