Volleyball team can secure share of HAAC Championship tonight

2011 HAAC Title?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Baker University volleyball team can secure at least a share of the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship tonight with a victory over Avila University.

Baker (22-10, 7-0 HAAC) is currently riding an 11-game winning streak with two games remaining in the regular season.

Christina Delladio leads the ‘Cats offensive attack with 2.6 kills and 1.3 blocks per set. She currently ranks fourth in the NAIA with 149 total blocks on the season.

Defensively, Brooke Allen leads the ‘Cats defense with 5.2 digs per set. She currently ranks eighth in the NAIA with 607 total digs.

Avila (14-15, 1-5 HAAC) is currently riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Culver-Stockton College and Stephens College last week.

Katelyn Frakes leads the Eagles in three statistical categories: Aces (0.4 per set), assists (8.9 per set), and digs (3.8 per set.) Holly Wilson looks to stabilize the middle with 0.6 blocks per set.

Baker returns to its home court on Nov. 1 when it hosts Peru State College for Senior Night at 7 p.m.
