BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Avila University in the opening round of the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference playoffs.
Baker jumped out to an early lead in the first set, defeating the Eagles 25-18. The ‘Cats didn’t look back from there as Baker won set two 25-14 and set three 25-17.
“We played a good game tonight,” said head coach Kathy Allen. “We just need to keep doing what we do in practice and prepare for Graceland on Wednesday. I look forward to seeing a bunch of fans at the game.”
Baker (25-10 overall, 10-0 HAAC) will host Graceland University (18-12 overall, 5-4 HAAC) on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the HAAC semifinals.
