After Thursday’s home opener Baker will take on Sterling College at 11 a.m., and Friends University at 3 p.m. at Collins Gym in day one of the Baker Invitational.
The Wildcats will end the week with a match against John Brown at 11 a.m. and Kansas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening.
Baker enters the weekend 4-4 overall after dropping its last two matches at the Bellevue Tournament last weekend.
Crystal Simon has come on late to lead the Wildcats offensively; with double-digit kills in two matches last weekend including 14 against Briar Cliff and 12 against Dordt College.
Renata Dill has collected 11 or more digs in all of Baker’s eight matches this season and had a season high 32 digs in the Wildcats win over Briar Cliff. She is third in the conference in digs per set at 4.9.
Danielle French is second in the HAAC in blocks per set at 1.3 and has 38 total blocks on the year.
William Woods enters Thursday’s match, 2-2, while Sterling is 7-3 on the year and opened the season 5-0.
Friends is still in search of its first win at 0-4 and John Brown is in one of the hottest teams in the country with a record of 8-1 overall. The final team on Baker’s schedule this weekend is Kansas Wesleyan and the Coyotes come in at 3-6.
