Jasmyn Turner had two blocks for Baker on Tuesday night
MARSHALL, Mo. – In a match that the Wildcats controlled from start to finish, the Baker University women’s volleyball team defeated Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent Missouri Valley in three sets (25-16, 25-14, 25-21) to improve to 13-9 and 3-1 in the HAAC on Tuesday night.
With the loss, Missouri Valley falls to 8-10 and 1-4 in the conference. Baker’s defense was outstanding on the night, holding the Vikings to a team hitting percentage of .000. MVC had just 25 kills in three sets on 130 attempts
Savannah Smith led Baker in kills with nine and Jana Boss was tops in assists with 20. Junior Jasmyn Turner had a team high two blocks.
The Wildcats will next take on Peru State at home on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Collins Center.
