Baker Sweeps Peru State for HAAC Win

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University volleyball team won its third straight match on Monday night in a three-set win over Peru State (25-17, 25-23, 25-21) to improve to 14-9 and 4-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

With the loss, Peru State fell to 8-20 and 1-5. The Wildcats spread the ball well amongst three players, as Danielle French led the team in kills with eight and Jana Boss and Crystal Simon were second on the team with seven apiece. 

Boss also had 27 assists and eight digs. Baker had 33 assists on 36 kills and as a team collected nine team blocks.

French was a force on the net with one solo block and assisted on six others. Boss also had four assist blocks and Shannon Bond along with Savannah Smith added two block assists.

The Wildcats had six service aces with Renata Dill leading the way with three. Dill also added 12 digs.

Baker will take on four matches this weekend during Fall Break at the Colorado College Tournament with two matches on Friday against Whittier College and Wisconsin Lutheran and two Saturday against Claremont College and Colorado College.
