Volleyball Earns Three Scholar-Athletes

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Three members of the 2012 Baker University volleyball team were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes on Friday afternoon, as Jasmyn Turner, Jana Boss and Tara Chumley earned the award.

408 volleyball student-athletes from around the country were named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The Baker University women's volleyball team finished 2012 with a 19-14 overall record and fourth-place finish in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings.

Jana Boss earned a spot on the HAAC First-Team All-Conference, while Turner was named to the Honorable Mention All-HAAC Team.
