Wildcats Take Down BC in Four Sets

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University volleyball team bounced back after its three set loss to Evangel last week, as they took down Benedictine College on Tuesday night with a four set win, 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, 25-15.

With the win Baker improved to 20-8 overall and 6-2 in the HAAC, while BC fell to 10-19 and 3-5 in the Conference.

Baker will end the HAAC regular season next Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. on the road at Central Methodist.

In Tuesday night's match, the offense ran through senior outside hitters Jasmyn Turner and Crystal Simon, as Turner led the night with 15 kills and Simon had 13.

Freshman setter Hannah Bettge dished out 40 assists and added 11 digs and eight kills. Baker hit an impressive .210 as a team and held BC to a hitting percentage of .079. Baker had 12 total team blocks and sophomore Danielle French had four solo blocks.

The Ravens had eight total team blocks and only had one service ace and only one player had double-digit kills.

French also had five kills on the night and Bettge led the team with a hitting percentage of .353.
