Volleyball Advances to HAAC Semifinals

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After another solid defensive effort, the No. 3 seeded Baker University volleyball team advanced to the semifinal round of the HAAC Conference Tournament after a three set win over No. 6 Peru State, 25-16, 27-25, 25-15, on Saturday night.

The Wildcats held Peru to a hitting percentage of just .195, and hit an impressive .456 themselves with Jasmyn Turner leading the way with 16 kills.

Hannah Bettge dished out 41 assists in the three sets and Renata Dill had 22 digs. Evagel had only one total team block, while Baker had seven.

The Wildcats will next take on No. 2 Evangel on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in the HAAC semifinals. Evangel defeated Graceland in three sets, 25-15, 25-17, 25-12.

Other strong offensive performers for the Wildcats were Crystal Simon with her nine kills and Danielle French added eight kills, as did Bettge.
