Baker goes 2-0 in day one of Wildcat Invitational
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker volleyball team got off to a hot start at the 2011 Baker Invitational as they defeated Midland University 3-0 in the afternoon and Oklahoma City University 3-0 in the nightcap.
Sydney Pemberton led the ‘Cats against Midland recording 8 kills, while Jana Boss chipped in with 20 assists. Libero Brooke Allen had nine digs.
Christina Delladio and Jana Boss led Baker offensively in the nightcap, each recording 7 kills. Jana Boss added 20 helpers.

Volleyball team opens up HAAC play with commanding victory
MARSHALL, Mo. – It took just more than an hour for the Baker University volleyball team to claim its first conference victory of the season. The Wildcats (4-5 overall, 1-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference) opened the HAAC with a three-set victory over Missouri Valley on Tuesday, winning 25-20, 25-16 and 25-19.
Senior outside hitter Christina Delladio led the offensive effort, cranking out 14 kills. Junior Jana Boss was stellar yet again, chipping in 27 assists.

Allen and Boss named HAAC Players of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After finishing the weekend 2-2 at the Bellevue Invitational, senior Brooke Allen (Topeka, Kan.) and junior Jana Boss (Shawnee Mission, Kan.) were selected as the HAAC Libero and Setter of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Allen averaged 5.79 digs per game while posting a reception percentage of .938 with four service aces. Boss averaged 8.14 assists, while also tallying 2.43 kills per game. The Wildcats highlighted the weekend with a 3-1 victory over #20 Dordt (Iowa).

Volleyball team goes 2-2 at Bellevue Invitational
BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Baker University volleyball team split its weekend games after sweeping Friday’s matches against No. 20 Dordt College (Neb.) and Concordia University (Neb.)
Three players added to the offensive attack against No. 20 Dordt. Savannah Smith, Jana Boss and Jasmyn Turner all recorded double digit kills, Boss also racked up 35 assists. Brooke Allen had 22 digs in the Wildcats 3-1 victory.
The second match of the day saw the Wildcats defeat Concordia (Neb.) 3-0. Savannah Smith and Jasmyn Turner each led the team with eight kills apiece.

Volleyball team goes 1-3 in opening weekend
ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Baker University volleyball team traveled to Orange City, Iowa this past weekend and went 1-3 in the Red Raider Classic.
Baker dropped its opening match to No. 12 Doane (Neb.) 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 9-25). Christina Delladio and Sydney Pemberton led the way offensively, each recording 10 kills. Libero Brooke Allen had 19 digs.
BU’s only victory of the weekend came against Briar Cliff (Iowa) in the second match of the tournament, as the Wildcats defeated the chargers 3-2 in comeback fashion after dropping the first three sets. Christina Delladio led the way with 12 kills while Savannah Smith added 10. Setter Jana Boss had 32 assists.

Baker volleyball team looks to capture HAAC title
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Head Baker University volleyball coach Kathy Allen believes the 2011 squad is one of her best in 14 years guiding the Wildcats.
The Wildcats return AVCA All-American and Heart of America Athletic Conference Libero of the Year Brooke Allen (Topeka, Kan.), 2010 blocking leader senior Christina Delladio (Bonner Springs, Kan.), and the 2010 Heart of America Athletic All-Conference setter Jana Boss (Shawnee Mission, Kan.).

Wildcats fall in HAAC Semifinals to Lindenwood, 3-1
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The dream season the Wildcats had envisioned just wasn’t meant to be in 2010. The Wildcats were knocked out of the HAAC Semifinals on Wednesday evening at Lindenwood University.

Baker volleyball defeats William Jewell in round one of HAAC Playoffs
LIBERTY, Mo. – The Baker women’s volleyball team, a No. 6 seed in the HAAC Playoffs upset No. 3 William Jewell College 3-2 on Saturday evening.
Offensively, sophomore Savannah Smith led the way recording 21 kills, while Brooke Allen anchored the defense with 52 digs.
The Wildcats will now travel to St. Charles, Mo., to face No. 2 seeded Lindenwood University on Wednesday evening.
