Younger athletes get their first taste of competition
LINCOLN, Neb. - The Baker indoor track and field team traveled to Lincoln, Neb., this past weekend to participate in the NWU Invitational.
A number of competitors got the season off to a great start. Freshman Corinna Papps (pictured) posted a 12th-place finish in the 1000-meter with a time of 3:21.54, and freshman Lindsey Brown took 14th-place in the 3000-meter with a time of 11:35.70.
"We have a very young team this season. The youthful depth and returning upperclassmen should create a very positive environment for our ladies in the 2009-10 season," stated head coach Zach Kindler.
Baker will be back in action this upcoming weekend when they travel to Crete, Neb., to participate in the Doane Multi Meet.
