On the men’s side sophomore Jeremy Gathright (Vista, Calif.) took home second-place overall in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 14.52 meters. With the performance, he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Field Athlete of the Week.
Kate Thurbon (Topeka, Kan.) led the Baker women with a seventh-place finish in the pole vault, with a national qualifying mark of 3.45 meters. Thurbon was named HAAC Field Athlete of the Week on the women’s side.
“We’re working as hard as we can even with the weather the way it is and still managing to put up solid marks and times,” said assistant coach Zach Atzeni.
The indoor season will continue this weekend when both teams travel to NWU Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
