Baker track and field teams have another successful weekend

Track and Field Update

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker track and field team split up this past weekend and traveled to the KT Woodman Invitational at Wichita State and the William Jewell Gourley Open.

The severe weather warnings at both events didn’t bother the Wildcats.

Senior Rae Lynn Stewart finished in second place in the women’s high jump, clearing a mark of 1.45 meters while sophomore Stephanie Nelson took home titles in the women’s javelin and discus at the Gourley Open. On the men’s side, Clayton Hill finished third in the men’s shot put and Cody Viergever finished third in the men’s javelin.

Freshman Tyler Sloan led the way for the Baker women at the KT Woodman Invitational setting a new personal record in the women’s 100 meter hurdles. She previously held a time of 14.82 seconds, but lowered her time to 14.42 seconds, moving her into seventh place nationally.
