HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Baker University track and field team took home three first-place finishes on Friday at the Tabor College Invitational.

Kerry Kurta won the 3,000-meter women's steeplechase with a time of 12:14.68 over five other competitors. She ran past two teammates as well, Ashley McBride finished second in a time of 12:25 and Lindsey Brown finished fourth in a time of 13:06.

Travis Miller won the men's long jump competition with a mark of 6.47-meters and finished ahead of 13 other jumpers.

Baker's Greg Henning took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.08-meters and Ki'anie Brooks finished sixth with a jump of 5.86.

The final first-place medal went to Jordan Miller whose javelin throw of 38.56 earned her first-place over 20 other throwers.

Ashley Riniker also had a strong showing in the javelin with a sixth-place finish throw that traveled 34.85-meters.

Baker's next competition will take place on its home track and Liston Stadium, as they host the Wildcat Relays on Saturday, Apr. 27. They will then host the HAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 3-4.
