BU Post Four All-Americans in Day One

MARION, Ind. – The Baker University track and field team posted four NAIA All-Americans after day one at the 62nd Annual Men's and 33rd Annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.

The four Wildcats who earned NAIA All-America status after day one at the NAIA National Championships were, defending NAIA National champion Stephanie Nelson with a second-place finish in the Javelin with a throw of 47.22.

Teammate Katelyn Wolken took seventh-place in the Javelin with a throw of 41.77, and Cody Viergever took sixth-place in the men's Javelin competition with a throw of 56.39.

For the second straight year Baker's Katie Thurbon took second in the Pole Vault and finished as the national runner-up with her mark of 3.55m.

After day one, Baker stands in second-place in the women's team standings behind Eastern Oregon with 15.75 points. In the men's standings the Wildcats are in ninth-place with three points.
