Women's Soccer
2009 Season Preview
Coming off a 10-8-2 record and second-round exit from the HAAC Tournamen
t, the Baker women's soccer team is looking to make great strides this season. The team, led by captain Gina Schiraldi, returns a bevy of talent and experience, including Christine Janssens, a first-team All-HAAC performer who received All-American honorable mention. Other key returners include Mikayla Medlock, second-team all-HAAC, Chelsea Dunn, second-team all-HAAC; and Haley Oborny, third-team all-HAAC. Cal State Fullerton transfer Margaret Dupes looks to make an immediate impact. "With all starters returning and the addition of Margaret Dupes, we should be able to compete at a much higher level this season," said head coach Nate Houser. The Wildcats start the season with four straight road games and the MidAmerica Nazarene Tournament. A quick start before returning home will be crucial toward the success of the season.
