Kylie white got the scoring started just nine seconds into the second frame to even the game at one apiece. Less than four minutes later Jordan Dolbin scored what would end up being the game-winning goal on a spectacular set piece from just outside the penalty area.
With the victory, the Baker women qualified for the 2010 NAIA National Championship Series for the first time in school history.
“The victories we had this week over No. 5 Lindenwood, No. 1 Graceland and No. 2 William Jewell College speak for themselves,” said head coach Nate Houser. “I couldn’t be more proud of this team.”
Both Graceland and William Jewell were also receiving votes on the national scene. Graceland was ranked No. 6 nationally, while Jewell sits at No. 13 nationally.
Full brackets and pairings for the national tournament will be announced on Sunday afternoon. Be sure to check back on www.bakerwildcats.com for full details.
