No. 21 Women’s soccer set for HAAC title game with Graceland

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Coming off a NAIA Final Four run in 2010, the Baker women’s soccer team will have a chance to clinch an automatic berth into the NAIA National Championships once again on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. from Liston Stadium.

No. 21 Baker (12-3-1, 5-1-1 HAAC) defeated Graceland 3-2 in the regular season thanks to two goals from Jordan Dolbin. Ashley Ukena added the only other goal in the contest.

The second-seeded Yellowjackets (10-5-3, 5-1-1 HAAC) are coming off a 1-0 HAAC semifinal victory over Benedictine College on Wednesday evening. Gisela Arrieta scored the lone goal in the contest when she broke free in the 28th minute and received a ball in the eight-yard box from Laura Hernandez.

HAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year Alix Schiraldi continues to lead the ‘Cats in goals (13), assists (7), shots (81), and shots on goal (41). HAAC Defensive Player of the Year Maggie Dupes enters play with two shutouts on the season and a 1.30 goals against average.

Gisela Arrieta currently ranks fifth nationally with 25 goals on the season for the Yellowjackets.  She also ranks sixth nationally with 3.1 points per game. Goalkeeper Stefany Castano Cardozo is averaging 7.8 saves per contest with a 1.68 goals against average.
