KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In the first NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 poll of the regular season, Baker University landed at No. 9 after a 2-1-1 record in its first four games, all against NAIA Top 25 teams.

In the preseason poll that came out on August 14, the Wildcats earned the No. 6 spot voted by the coaches.

Baker received 424 total points this week and began the season with one of the toughest schedules in the country.

Baker began the season with a 2-2 double overtime draw with No. 9 Westmont, and then followed that up with a road victory at No. 24 University of Science and Arts, 3-1.

The Wildcats first loss of the season came in heartbreaking fashion in a 1-0 double overtime loss at No. 11 Oklahoma City.

Just two days ago Baker picked up its second win of the season in a 5-1 home win against No. 21 University of Texas at Brownsville.

Baker will return to the pitch next Wednesday, Sept. 12 when they take on Park University at 5 p.m. at Liston Stadium.
