BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University defender Shelby Schiraldi earned this week’s Heart of America Athletic Conference defensive Player of the Week award, after leading the Baker defense to a 3-0 road win at Avila last Saturday.

This marks the first HAAC defensive player of the week award for the Wildcats in 2012. A sophomore from Lenexa, Kan., Schiraldi anchored the Wildcats defense to a third clean sheet of the season and third-straight victory overall. 

Schiraldi and the Wildcats are currently 8-2-1 on the year and 2-0 in the HAAC, they will face rival MidAmerica Nazarene on Tuesday night at 5 p.m. at Liston Stadium.

The HAAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week will represent the conference for the NAIA awards, which will be announced Tuesday afternoon throughout the regular season.
